Shri Vithal Education & Research Institute (SVERI) Pandharpur is a charitable educational trust, established in the year 1998 with approval from All India the Engineering College, accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). An ISO 9001:2008 certified Institute and is accredited by The Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkatta in the city of Pandharpur on the bank of river Chandrabhage. Pandharpur is also known as south Kashi of India and spiritual capital of Maharastra. The city is home of lord Vithoba every year lakhs of devotes throughout the country visit Pandharpur. Pandharpur is well connected by air, rail and road to the cities like Mumbail, Viapur and Hyderabad. The nearest airports are Pune and Solapur. Pandharpur is connected by broad gauge railway line to Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore mainline. Pandharpur station is on central railway road of Miraj to Latur. The nearest junction to the city is Kurdudawadi. Pandharpur is just 72 km away from its district Solapur. This is junction of national highway 9 and 13 and is around 200 km by road from Pune. State transports buses are available from swargate and shivaji nagar bus stations of Pune. Shri Vithal Education and Research Institute is charitable trust which came into existence in the year 1998. Under the trust College of engineering was started in the year 1998. By a group of young, enthusiastic, sincere qualified and experienced and techno grants and entrepreneurs. The College humble beginnings with 160 students in the year 1998 which expanded into a campus with about 4000 students as of 2013. Founder secretary Of Sveri and principal of college of Engineering Dr.B.P Ronge have completed his Mtech from IIT Bombay and Phd from Solapur University. He is the guiding force behind the success of the institution under the Sveri umbrella. His vision to make education available to everyone and his restless effort in this direction have borne fruit in the creating sound student community with skills of excellence. College of Engineering offers in the branches 1. Mechanical, 2. Electronic& Telecommunication, 3. Computer Science 4. Information Technology and 5. Civil Engineering. Department of Mechanical Engineering currently has an intake of 120.There are 40 professors in the department, including three PhD?s. The department has well equipped laboratory that include Basic Mechanical Engineering, Thermodynamic, Theory of Machinery, Refrigeration and Air conditioning, CAD/CAM lab, Manufacturing process lab, and Metallurgy to name a few. Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering has an intake of 120. The total teaching staff including three PhD?s is 36. The department is well equipped with laboratories for electronic devices and circuit?s analog communication, digital communication, microwaves engineering, electronic Design, Microprocessor & Microcontroller, Power Electronic, Control system etc. to name a few. Department of computer science & Engineering and Information Technology have an intake of 120 and 60 respectively, with a total of 51 including three PhD holders. These departments have most advanced laboratories for Linux, Databases, and Microprocessors and have excellent computer center, server room and multimedia facilities. Department of civil Engineering has an intake of 60.Total teaching staff including two PhD?s is 19.The department is well equipped for laboratories on surveying, fluid Mechanics Geo-technical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Engineering Geology and Material Testing lab to name a few. Along with UG courses the institute also offers PG Courses and has Sholapur university approved doctor and research centers. The Research and Development cell. The research and development cell is one of the best department in the institute headed by Dr.Prashant Pawar, Dr.P.M Pawar has taken his PhD degree from IISc Banglore and did his post doctor studies from Konkuk University, South Korea. With the support of about 10 phd faculties including Dr.B.P Ronge who has done Mtech from IIT Bombay and Phd from solapur University and another fifteen phds in the making R & D cell grants from the government and several other funding agencies. The Institute has received two large R & D projects of about Rs 4.55 corer from Rajiv Gandhi Science & Technology Commission Mumbai and grant of 17 lakhs from ARDB, Defense of Ministry. Faculty are strongly encouraged to collaborate with foreign universities. Each year several of our Teaching staff visit countries abroad and present paper in international conferences. About 83 papers were presented and published in various national and international journals amd conferences. Aptitude for research is strongly encouraged in the students by sponsoring their project with eminent faculty and excellent facilities available for research. Students publish papers in international journals, many eminent personalities and scientists visits the Institute and give their constant support and guidance to our faculty and students. Training and Placement Cell. The list of major recruiters is extensive including but not limited to TATA Consultancy Services, Infosys, Nehilant, Cumins, BOSH, Cognisant, L& T Infotech, Bajaj Aliance, HCL, Mahindra, Cimens, ADP, Syntel among others. In the last two years, 163 students have been accepted to TCS. A look at the placement summary since the year 2008 proves the potential of the Training Placement Cell beyond and question Merit is encouraged in the campus by rewarding the students with prize money, medals and certificates among other things. In addition to meritorious scholarship and assistance of up to 25 lakh is provided to a needy student through the Earn-and-Learn scheme facility, which is also unique feature of the institute. The central library, the environment at SVERI is conducive to learning, poring a huge 12,000 sq ft area. The central library of college books of 7,000 titles and 46,000 volumes .Many international and national journals and periodicals are added to the existing 11,000 subscriptions. The library is opened 24 hours and provides up to 300 seatings in the reading area. Students also have an available digital library facility. Living at Sveri is not only conducive for education but is also comfortable. Currently there are about 12,000 boys and 900 girls living on campus in the hostels. Facilities such as good quality food in the mess, hot water solar system, Pranayam, yoga classes in the regular time-table, separate gymnasium block with modern equipment, bus services for convenience of local students, dispensary at hostel campus and specialist at call, physician with emergency vehicles, fully secure campus with zero tolerance for ragging, free from smoking, chewing of tobacco or related products and consumption of alcoholic products. As of 2013 Pandharpur has three other colleges under its umbrellas, College Of Engineering (poly) Pandharpur in the year 2008?09, College Of Pharmacy (poly) Pandharpur & College Of Pharmacy Pandharpur in the year 2006?07. The trust has plans to expand the campus to cities of Pune and Sholapur where land has been acquired to set up similar dream campuses.
